The Journey of James Weston

Friday, December 31st, 2021 We celebrated with family in town. Lots of happy tears today, since James has come so far. James had his first taste of icing from his birthday cake. 🎂 Not enough to swallow, but just enough to taste it. We sang Happy Birthday with tears of joy. He got a bath and a late night puppet show from Juju. Crazy to think all that has happened in this last year. It went by so quick and yet it feels like such a long time ago when James was in the NICU a tiny 1lb micro preemie with the world praying for him. ❤️ In deep thought... Thursday, December 30th, 2021 Juju, Aunt Robin, Champ, and Tommy arrived in the evening just in time for James' bath and trach change. He really enjoyed his bath. Lots of photos and videos below! Wednesday, December 29th, 2021 James had physical therapy for the 2nd time this week. Today, he actually tolerated it. Yesterday he just cried the whole time. 😢 We kept him hooked up to the Farrell bag this time and used the bean bag to support and comfort his G-tube, forming a donut. We will need to create something something from foam with a hole for his GJ button that will be able to strap around his stomach so he can roll. The only thing that exists right now is for much older kids and is ridiculously expensive. So off to Joann Fabrics to rig something up with some neoprene!  P.S. James' 1st birthday is coming up!
