The Journey of James Weston

Saturday, February 26th, 2022 James had visits with family and friends. Aunt Taylor got selfies and cuddles, Uncle Mark and Lauren met James for the first time. Uncle Mark gave James a new puppet that he loved. Cathy met James for the second time. We received beautiful flowers and chocolate covered fruit from James' Great Aunt Irene as well as some adorable outfits and toys from Natalie. In the last two weeks we've noticed big changes in James becoming more interactive and playful! In the evening, Mom did a bath and trach care with Juju and Aunt Robin. We brought the massage table out into the kitchen. James is really good for Mom when Dad isn't there to get him wound up. He holds really still since it's pretty tricky holding in the trach, while cleaning his neck, and putting new trach ties on. At this point, she feels very confident in doing it by herself. Juju and Aunt Robin are there as spotters, helping James sit up at the end to get the ties on and in case there is...

Friday, February 25th, 2022 Dad in left in the wee morning for the airport. 🛫❄️🎿  We moved the sleeping arrangement for Mom and James into the family room which is right next to the kitchen. It just made more sense to have his Pack N Play there since this is where we would mainly be gathering. Two nights in a row James has peed through his diaper and soaked the bed sheets. That is the reason for the multiple outfits changes. During the day James enjoyed a puppet show from Juju, teethed on a frozen wine glass, and got used to his new surroundings. Thursday, February 24th, 2022 First day at Juju's, James got to know his big brother, Tommy, the Chihuahua. Tommy really just wanted some of James' toys, especially the ones that squeaked. James just wanted to pet the dogs. James was much more interested in them during this visit. When he went to pet Champ James decided to go in for a tug on his love handle. Thank goodness Aunt Robin was holding Champ and he was chill. James did his Passy Muir and had tastes of apple. Dad will leave tomorrow morning for his boy trips to go skiing in Colorado.
