Day 469 - James Isn't Feeling Well 🤧

Image
Wednesday, April 13th, 2022 James isn't feeling well. Not sure if it's allergies or if he's sick. He has a constant runny nose, red watery eyes, super irritable, slight fever. We bought some children's Claritin. He had so much mucus earlier he almost threw up. Mom contacted the pediatrician office by sending them a message through the online portal. Since Monday night James has had a runny nose, red watery eyes, and seems congested. I am wondering if this is allergies or if he is sick. I have been giving him Tylenol. Am I able to give him children's Claritin? Or are we able to set up a telehealth appointment? James has never had anything ever come out of his nose, so he is not tolerating this at all. I've been trying to suction. Unfortunately we never heard back. Seems like their online portal is kinda pointless. Mom ended up giving him some Claritin and based the dosage given to her by another Trach Mom.  On another note, James really liked watching the Cardina...

Day 468 - James Loves His Naps

Image
Tuesday, April 12th, 2022 Today Dad took a day to relax and spent the day at the beach. Mom and James worked on developmental milestones. In the late afternoon, Mom went to Dad's office to meet some random Facebook Marketplace people wanting to buy office furniture as well as to organize and clean. It turns out most everyone no showed. Fun. James is still going strong with 3 naps a day. It's really hard wanting to transition him to only 2 naps since he is still growing and his lungs are working so hard. P.S. Do you follow James' journey? James would love to read an email from you. His email is JamesWestonAbramowitz@gmail.com. How heartwarming for him to receive these and fun for you to get a response from him in like 10 years...

Day 467 - Two Vaccines & Switching Formula

Image
Monday, April 11th, 2022 Today James had 2 vaccines (DTAP and Hep A) with the pediatrician, and a GI appointment. It is the last day for James to wrap up the antibiotics. In our GI appointment James was prescribed a new formula. So we are switching from Similac to Compleat Pediatric. This is a formula made with real food pureed ingredients from a variety of fruits and vegetables. Once a baby reaches 1 years old, they need more nutrients then what's available solely from formula because their digestion system has matured. James' adjusted age is 12 months. His due date was April 8th. After we got home from the morning appointments James and Mom took a nap in her bed while Dad went to the office.   P.S. You can email James your love and support as often as you’d like. Mom and Dad read these email to James as they come in. We all love them! JamesWestonAbramowitz@gmail.com

Day 466 - Still Taking a Break From the Helmet

Image
Sunday, April 10th, 2022 Today Dad spent the day at the office running a staff meeting. Mom and James spent the day together. We are still taking a break from the helmet since the red spots are still present.  P.S. Do you follow James' journey? James would love to read an email from you. His email is JamesWestonAbramowitz@gmail.com. How heartwarming for him to receive these and fun for you to get a response from him in like 10 years...

Day 465 - Father Son time!

Image
Saturday, April 9th, 2022 Dad gave Mom an option to get a break out of the house by helping him move out of his office. So she took on this project and enlisted two former Cutco guys to help her move the big stuff Dad wanted to move into a storage unit. His lease was coming to an end and he has been doing everything remotely for the past few years anyways. If you need office chairs or a large conference table, come on down! They will be donated at the end of April. James spent the day with Dad. Of course this involved watching some Disney and chilling like a Big Boy. 😂 P.S. You can email James your love and support as often as you’d like. Mom and Dad read these email to James as they come in. We all love them! JamesWestonAbramowitz@gmail.com

Day 464 - Emergency Helmet Appointment

Image
Friday, April 8th, 2022 We noticed these red spots James was getting on his head so we emailed our helmet person and she let us know that unfortunately no one was in the office locally. We would need to drive across the bay to the only location that had someone working today. They ended up shaving down the helmet a bit more in those spots. In order to do that we had to put lipstick on his head and then put the helmet on. When she took it off, she knew where to file it down. The helmets are made to his head shape, but since his head has continued to grow there are parts that are rubbing. It's a fine line between shaving too much and allowing the head to grow misshapened or shaving too little and getting skin breakdown. During this appointment, James' circuit became disconnected while Mom was holding him. When you are holding him, you don't have extra hands. So Mom immediately laid James down on her lap to reconnect. This helmet lady was shooken up at what just happened and g...
