Day 85 - Resting & Registry Info

Thursday, March 25, 2021

Today James has just been resting up! He had another 3 hour hold in the morning with Mom. No real changes on the vent, just a little drifty. He already has a leak again, so it sounds like he is snoring. He weighed in at 3010 grams (6lb 10 oz)!

James likes to be snuggled with pillows filled with beans called "frogs".

Registry Info:

We've had people say they lost the Registry link or ask our family members for it, so we are sharing that here.

We would like to thank everyone that has sent us stuff!!! Wow! It is so nice to see the love from everyone from all over! We thought we would be able to have thank you cards out by now, but we also thought we'd be home 3 months later. Well we are still in the hospital and that newborn photo shoot hasn't happened. So we apologize, but trust me we have a spreadsheet going! We truly appreciate everything that has been sent and the amazing messages of support. We can't wait to send you the cutest photo of James showing his appreciation!

We've had a few people ask us what we really need or could use right now, so we have marked those item on the Registry as "Must Haves". Jimmy's NICU Physical Therapist asked us to purchase a Boppy Pillow for therapy so that is something we recently added to the registry. We also go through Dapple Baby Bottle Soap pretty quickly. It's not very exciting but we have to wash the pump parts multiple times a day and we have already gone through 3 giant bottles. Also, James goes through diapers pretty quickly, we can only imagine what it's going to be like at home. He especially likes to go in his diaper right after we get a clean one on him! So there is a section at the beginning of our registry that says "Group Gift Contribution" which donates to our diaper fund for after the hospital. Since we don't know what size he will be when we leave here this is super helpful!

Pumping is Mom's life right now. Every 3 hours, 8x a day.

We know that James' needs will change with having a tracheostomy and being ventilator dependent. Mom has made updates to the registry accordingly, removing items that he will not be able to use and adding in staple items.

We also found out that our secondary insurance of Medicaid support is only going to cover us while we are in the hospital. Once at home we will be responsible for all costs since we make more than $32K/year combined. Yes, you read that right. We are super rich 🙄 and do not meet the Medicaid eligibility requirements. Dad would say that we are "Better than Rich". 👉

So we are currently doing research on what other options for support may be out there.

P.S. You can email James your love and support as often as you’d like. Mom and Dad read these email to James as they come in. We all love them! JamesWestonAbramowitz@gmail.com
