🎶 ❤️ James Weston Lullaby 🎵 ❤️ - We want you! 😁

Do you want to help us in making an amazing memory for James?! We had this lullaby written for Baby James with the help of a very talented artist. We are looking to create a beautiful montage of James' friends, family, and followers singing his sweet lullaby. This is open to anyone who wants to participate, the more the merrier! 😁 ❤️

*What to do & How to do it*

Video 🤳🏻 yourself singing parts or the whole thing, by yourself or with others, whether you can't sing or you're a world renowned acapella singer... 🎙️ We will be putting together a video montage of everyone's recordings! James wants to see you! You can email your video to JamesWestonAbramowitz@gmail.com. Please submit these by the end of August. 🥰 For files that are too large to email you can use Dropbox or Google drive. If you have any questions or need any help, you can also contact Mom and Dad through that same email. 📧

*Background:*

James Weston was born on New Year's Eve, three and a half months months early weighing only 1lb 4oz. Born as a micro preemie his lungs weren’t developed enough, so he required mechanical ventilation and oxygen to survive. 🫁 James developed bronchopulmonary dysplasia (BPD) and is currently ventilator dependent. At 3 months old, he got a tracheostomy and G-tube. So far he's spent 215 days between the NICU and PICU! Now 7 months old weighing 15.5lbs, he is getting stronger every day! We still have a long way to go but we are almost home!

*What is BPD?*

Babies aren't born with BPD. BPD develops when preemies need help to breathe for an extended period, which can lead to inflammation and scarring in the lungs. It's a catch-22, the events required to survive cause lung damage, which increase the need of mechanical ventilation, which again cause lung damage. 🔄 As infants with BPD grow, new healthy lung tissue can form and grow, and might eventually take over much of the work of breathing for damaged lung tissue.
