Day 381 - James Sleeps Upstairs in the Master 🛏️
Saturday, January 15th, 2022

Mom & Dad took advantage of our nurse working today and went out for breakfast and a trip to the mall. This is the second time since we've been home from the hospital that we've been able to go out for a meal together. After the nurse left at 3pm, we took James upstairs to watch a few movies in the TV room loft. We even did his wipe down and trach care on Mom's desk. Then we moved James into our Master bedroom and set him up in the Pack N Play for sleep. We were doing this because we did not have nursing the next day and wanted to continue to chill upstairs. It's literally like a vacation for Mom to lay down and watch a movie. 😂 But more importantly we were practicing with the setup and him sleeping in the Pack N Play because this is what we will need to do when we travel. Everything worked out great! We cut a hole in the netting in middle, on the side so that the dual limb circuit could slide through. But the most important thing is to make sure that the humidification chamber is sitting below the mattress level. We had placed it directly on the floor. Mom has heard of situations where the humidification chamber is on a table higher than the mattress and it tips over and drowns the baby. ⚠️
During trach care we noticed that he had a rash all over his back. We aren't sure what it's from. His skin is pretty sensitive to everything.
New Development Skill: James is really reaching for things. We are also really working with him on waving. He spends a lot of time inspecting his fingers.
Sticking to the schedule, James immediately passed out on our bed. We were able to move him into the Pack N Play without waking him up. Tomorrow, Sunday, the plan is more movies and more relaxing!
P.S. Do you follow James' journey? James would love to read an email from you. His email is JamesWestonAbramowitz@gmail.com. How heartwarming for him to receive these and fun for you to get a response from him in like 10 years...
