Day 455 - Cute Tees & Venting

Wednesday, March 30th, 2022

James continued to have his G-tube leak. We are venting 5-7 hours a day, which isn't normal. That is how much air James has in his stomach.

We had physical therapy in the afternoon and extra floor time in the evening.

*Forgot to mention when the RT stopped yesterday by we had a close call with James twice. The first incidence was when we were trying the different ventilators to see if any of them would work. Unfortunately in order to do this we needed to switch James back and forth. At one point we switched his circuit to a ventilator that wasn't working. 😮 It was NOT blowing air and was not supporting him. Mom immediately told her we needed to switch him back to the other vent. But the RT insisted she finagle with the pressure tubing to "fix it" instead. Mom grew concerned because she wasn't able to fix anything and did not want to keep James disconnected. Mom told her again and then again we needed to switch him to the other vent. Finally she agreed to switch him back to the other ventilator. 😡 Then was he was on a ventilator that worked, she attempted to turn it off. Mom had to tell her to stop because that is the ventilator he is on. She wasn't paying attention. Very concerning that she is still an RT. 🤯 Just one of the many reasons to switch DME companies.

P.S. Do you follow James' journey? James would love to read an email from you. His email is JamesWestonAbramowitz@gmail.com. How heartwarming for him to receive these and fun for you to get a response from him in like 10 years...
