Day 597 - James Makes His First Sign 🤌 & First EI Visit

Friday, August 19th, 2022

Today we focused a lot on books! 📚 James has been more and more interested lately. The popular books right now are ones with photos of babies, different textures to touch, or his favorite is the Peek-A-Boo book series where we can use his finger to play hide and seek with things on the pages. This one is great for fine motor skills.

In the afternoon, James had his first early invention session with our new therapist. She spent the time asking Mom questions to get a good feel for what James can do and what we are working on. James was a show off. The entire hour he was talking, showing her how he plays, and looking for responses from us. It was adorable and very age appropriate! It is very exciting to have therapy 3x a week and moving forward we abve her coming on Wednesdays. So Tues, Wed, Thurs James will have therapys in the home!

After trach care Mom was settling James down and played his James Weston Lullaby which is on his giraffe 🦒. When it finished James made the sign for "more" which is putting your finger tips together. It's a little tricky since so many of the signs are similar. He continued making the sign every time the song ended for a total of 3x. We didn't get it recorded but it was awesome! Mom starting singing another song to him but forgot the words and made them up. James put his hand on Mom's mouth to stop. 🤣 Oh boy!

James didn't stand a chance to have straight hair between Mom and Dad. Mom just found out she has some wavy hair. Still working on it, but who knew?

P.S. You can email James your love and support as often as you’d like. Mom and Dad read these email to James as they come in. We all love them! JamesWestonAbramowitz@gmail.com
