Day 617 - James Attends His First Flamenco Show!ππΌππ»ππ½

We had a pretty bad night last night. All throughout the night starting at around midnight James needed suctioning. His oxygen was dropping, yet it was saying that it was getting a really good reading. So we knew the issue was not the pulse sox on his foot. Every time Mom suctioned she wasn't getting very much up but yet she could feel it in his chest and in his back. So even though James was in a dead sleep mom had to sit him up and pat his back. This is called chest PT and we haven't really had to do this since the NICU. Typically after a lot of padding you can bring up secretions to his trach and then suction. There is a good chance that James has a trach infection. Mom increased his oxygen from .25 to .4. We didn't get very much sleep, well at least mom didn't. Every hour she was up either increasing oxygen or suctioning. You can throw in a couple diaper changes in there
We had rescheduled physical therapy to be earlier today than normal because we were going to have the pulmonology appointment. So unfortunately an 11:00am James had just gone down for his morning nap. But he is a light sleeper now and it didn't take very much for him to wake up when she arrived. Today we really focused on kneeling. The therapist secured his legs under hers which required him to stay up on his knees in order to reach for toys.
In the evening we headed out to dinner to the Columbia restaurant and they were nice enough to upgrade us to a table for the Flamenco showππ» so that we would have enough room for his stroller. We actually met up with one of Dad's clients but moving forward every Thursday we will go out to dinner as a family of three. Mom is really excited about not cooking dinner on Thursday nights! π€£
We brought James' high chair seat that attaches to the table but unfortunately since they had cloth on the tables and the tables were fairly small it just wasn't going to work. One of the waiters brought out a wooden high chair but when Mom placed James in it he cried again just like he did at his final helmet appointment. We are not sure why he correlates getting out of his car seat with "something bad is going to happen to him". So he cried and held on to Mom tightly. Then Mom just held him. When the flamenco show started it was extremely loud, like it was too loud for us adults. James started crying again and it was awful! It was a silent cry so no one could really hear him but he was terrified. So after a lot of stomping and clapping with music loud enough to blow your eardrums Mom and Dad switch seats so Mom could eat something. Interestingly enough he was fine and Dad's arms and finished watching the show with no problems!
