Day 625 - James Has His First Staycation at a Hotel ποΈ

Mom spent the day packing. 𧳠This required a new spreadsheet π©π»βπ» since a trip to a local hotel is different than going to visit family in Jacksonville. For one, in Jacksonville we have a stash of back-up supplies that we would not have at the hotel. However, if we did have an emergency we could always just run home for something. There were things deleted off the original travel spreadsheet (like PRN meds, trach change supplies, and addional tubing) and some things added (like feeding bags, funnel for humidification chamber, and cleaning buckets). James has had quite a few changes since our last trip to Jax. For example, we switched from using a nebulizer kit with a tee adapter to using the Aerogen Pro, we stopped using zinc butt paste, and stabilizers for his G-tube. Overall if we already had a back-up in our emergency or diaper bag then we weren't going to bring more than that.
The biggest item we didn't bring with us was the oxygen concentrator. We actually took James off of oxygen today after his morning trial off the vent. Mom monitored his stats and he did great! We still brought a full oxygen tank with us in case he needed it at night. A full E Tank running at 1/8 would give us about 90 hours.
We took James to Happy Hour πΉπ₯¨πΊπ and then gave him a bath in a real bathtub. Mom held him while he cried. Eventually he was okay because he could watch Miss Rachel on the iPad while bathing. Oh what a life! π π§Ό We did trach care on the bed, which wasn't the most comfortable. James slept next to Mom in a queen sized bed surrounded by pillows. Things only a trach/vent kiddo can do.
