Day 646 - Pool Noodle Bumpers! πŸ€•

Friday, October 7th, 2022

Mom and James played hard on Friday. πŸ’ͺπŸ»πŸ‹πŸ»β€β™‚οΈπŸ¦΅πŸ»πŸ€ΈπŸ»β€β™‚οΈ We started with his 30 minute trial off the ventilator and took advantage running around the house so James could experience as much as possible. πŸƒπŸ»β€β™€οΈ Mom disconnected his pulse ox 😲, clipped his Farrell bag to the "flying squirrel", then hooked that to her legging pockets (Pockets are Life!). First we went outside the front door and took a quick walk down the sidewalk. This probably looked insane as Mom was carrying a toddler with equipment hanging off the side of her pants and cords draped around her neck. After realizing she didn't even have shoes on we went back inside and walked out on the back deck. We were hoping to see some squirrels but they were upset with us for not feeding them recently. 🐿️ πŸ₯œ James loved feeling the warm 🌬️ Fall breeze πŸƒ and looking at the trees 🌳 and clouds ☁️.  Lastly, Mom took him upstairs to his nursery and James just cried. We think it was just too much too fast. Mom tried showing him the amazing water color decals of woodland animals all over the room but he wouldn't stop crying.

We played downstairs on his nugget and Dad brought home pool noodles so we could fix up his crib. James has been hitting his head on the railing now that he is sitting up on his own. Mom had an idea to use a pool noodle from the dollar store, which was right next to Dad's gym. It was a perfect fit. It also makes leaning over the crib for trach care and venting much more comfortable.

After an exhausting few weeks Dad could see that Mom needed a real break, not just a break to clean the house or do laundry. So he was nice enough to get Mom a hotel room. This way it would be impossible for Mom to get stuck taking care of To Do Lists around the house. πŸ›οΈ Tomorrow would be Daddy day with James!

O2 Sat 98% on zero oxygen at night! πŸ‘

P.S. You can email James your love and support as often as you’d like. Mom and Dad read these email to James as they come in. We all love them! JamesWestonAbramowitz@gmail.com
