When Mom arrived home from her staycation Dad and James were visiting with Aunt Jess. James seemed happy and was playing with Dad but after just a few minutes James started crying out of nowhere. π€·ββοΈ It's like he just realized that Mom came home. He didn't reach to be held but as soon as Mom picked him up he dug his head into her chest. He is still learning his emotions. π
We did James' bath and trach care pretty early before leaving to go out for the evening. We drove to St. Pete to check out a local play that one of Mom's friends was performing in at William's Park. This was James' first theatre experience and first time in St. Pete. First we went down the pier to see what was happening at the Fall Festival. We ran into Uncle Ryan and Conner! Definitely something to checkout next year, we seemed to arrive when everything was closing up. James enjoyed looking at the lights in the trees π³and the boats in the pier. β΅ π₯οΈβ΄οΈπ€ π π£π»ββοΈ This was also the first time James saw a large body of water like Tampa Bay since we haven't been able to go to the beach.
On our way home, we stopped for frozen yogurt and we took advantage of the fact that James still needed to do his nightly sprint off the vent for 30 minutes. So we brought James' inside, Mom carried him with his feeding pump and Farrell bag hooked on her pant's pocket. It was amazing to be able to carry James into a public place with barely any equipment! There are so many little things like this people take for granted everyday. As we ate outside James tried some flavors. He was a big chocolate π« and mango π₯ fan but wasn't liking raspberry! π Mom gave him a boba to try and he didn't like the texture and starting gagging. At one point, we had to grab the suction machine from the car because James needed it. We got back in the car just in time to put him back on the ventilator before driving home.
