Day 673 - Wolfson Saving the Day! 🏨🏥🥼

Thursday, November 3rd, 2022

Mom called the IR at 8am when they opened and they confirmed that they had the right sized button. Our procedure was scheduled for 1pm at Wolfson's Children's Hospital. It was a super easy process way more efficient than anything we experienced in Tampa. While we were waiting in the waiting room to be called back James double check the paperwork and wanted to remove his medical ID band. 😂 When we went back Dad got gowned up to go into the surgery room because Mom just had her embryo transfer only 2 day before. So when they ask "are you pregnant?", you say yes. The surgeon let us know afterwards that she would only recommend a 1.2cm button and he was nowhere close to 1.5cm which is what they put on previously. She also told us that we could come back every 3 months to get the GJ button replaced because they typically don't last longer than that. We would need to get an order from our doctor though since some parents just stop seeing their GI doctor. We asked her about her recommendations for GI in Jacksonville and she recommended the Nemours group which also has location in Orlando.

We were in and out within 1 hour. The hospital is very clean and huge. They even have a full size Starbucks bigger than one you would find out an airport terminal.

Afterwards we met up with Aunt Taylor for a late lunch! James was able to take a break off of ventilator and sit in a restaurant highchair. Then we took a stroll down the street and stopped at a bougie toy store where James was treated by Aunt Taylor to an awesome toy car that bounces! 🚗

Juju, Aunt Robin, Champ, and Tommy we're on their way back from their road trip from Indiana and wouldn't get home until super late. Of course James likes to stay up at Juju's and reached for both of them when they greeted him because that's his new thing now. He points to everyone, taking turns.
