Day 674 - First Time Bowling 🎳 & Eating a Lime Slice!

Just a follow up to Mike's rant and a warning to other parents looking for GI in Tampa.
James getting his GJ button replaced has been an awful experience. It really shined light on two things: 1) How limited Tampa is with pediatric GI options. Crazy with Tampa bring so big! 2) How much St. Joe's Children's needs to get their act together. Between the ER and IR, it is a mess! 😢
We ended up needing to drive 4 hours away to a different hospital that would help us immediately with our emergency. It was absolutely ridiculous.
There are only two GI pediatric groups in the entire Tampa Bay area (this includes St. Pete). Here are just some of the reviews online, "the office staff is deplorable", "the service is poor", "the attitude of the office staff is disgusting", "I would not recommend anyone", "every time we need to have something done, they botch it", "nurse didn't even attempt to be nice", "the worst communication in organization I have ever experienced in a doctor's office". A few reviews state, that the doctor was nice but always add the office staff was terrible, disrespectful, inept, or condescending. Zero responses to any of these reviews. 🚩 You would think as one of the doctors you would want to run a better business and replace your office staff so you don't lose patients. Well they don't have to worry about that since they are the only ones in the area.
So this is posted publicly and is a warning to other medical parents who are doing their research in Tampa for pediatric GI (especially those with a GJ). RUN. The 2 groups, pedigi.com (bad) is a smaller group of 4 doctors, and tummydoctors.com (the worst) is a massive group of 25 doctors,13 offices, covering from NPR to Lakeland to Cape Coral. You always have to deal with the main office of the entire group located in Tampa, who the reviews are referencing above!! They clearly do not care that they have such a bad reputation, which is very well known in the area, even by the medical community! We we're warned by two of James' other doctors that is very common to hear patients switch from one group to the next and then just transfer to another city all together because they are that terrible. It is a monopoly. We now will be seeking GI Doctors in Orlando or Jacksonville and making the drive. 🚗
The good news! James is doing great and we had an excellent experience at Wolfson's Children's Hospital in Jacksonville. When I called they were able to get us in immediately. Very efficient process and very friendly. They put in the correct sized GJ button this time (we clarified several times) and let us know we can come back every 3 months to get it replaced. We were in and out in less than hour. Amazing! 🤩

So Friday...! Dad ended up leaving early in the morning, got a rental car, and drove back to Tampa. Unfortunately this was just bad timing and he had previously planned the weekend as a trip with his boys in Tampa. 🌴
Juju and Aunt Robin missed their bowling league last night so they needed to post bowl today. This was James' first time at a bowling alley! 🎳 He was very stimulated by all the noise and the music. James gave everyone high five when they scored! 👋 He also tried a lime slice and ended up eating the whole thing. It was kind of crazy because it was a very different texture than what he's used to. After bowling we went out for dinner so James could see his favorite male waiter.
