Happy Birthday Great Aunt Kay! πŸŽ‰πŸŽ‚πŸ₯³

Today we got back on the road, but got a super late start. We started off the day by Dad fixing Juju's grill. Who knew he could be so handy? πŸ˜† Then Aunt Robin created some adorable little outfits with her cricut for two trach moms. One of them we were assigned to for Secret Santa and their precious girl has been in and out of the hospital. So we wanted to have something custom made "from the elves at Santa's workshop".

Packing up is almost an all-day event. We not only have equipment to double check but since we have a supply stash in Jacksonville Mom needs to take inventory of how many supplies are left so we know what we need to bring next time and how much of it.

We decided to do James' bath and trach care before we left since we would be getting home so late. Last night we ended up skipping trach care because James was already asleep from the car ride back from St Augustine. That is definitely a rare occurrence though.

After his bath he was in such a good mood he asked for tickles [See video]. Tommy is also getting closer and closer to James everyday. Practically cuddling on the couch. One of the cutest things that James has recently learned is to put his hand on his mouth while he is making noise to make the "wah wah" sound. When he wears the passy muir valve he can be very loud and when he is upset it's even louder. Our physical therapist told Mom that the best way to stop him from whining/crying is to gently pat his mouth to make that sound. Well James immediately starts laughing! Shortly after, he started doing it himself. Aunt Robin also worked with James on learning where his ears are and his mouth. We have been working on ears for a long time and sometimes it just takes constant repetition instead of giving up and moving on to the next body part. Currently James can tell you where the following body parts are: ears, mouth, nose, head, hair, legs, feet, toes, hands, fingers. We are working on eyes, belly, and arms. Sometimes he gets those but not consistently. Either way he has enough down pat that he will be able to pass his assessment test at his 2-year pediatrician appointment.

Before we got in the car, while the car was all packed up, James was in his car seat and was rocking out to Motown. We call his dance "The Car Seat Soul Shake". James definitely feels the music! Please enjoy the video below of a montage of Motown songs and James' gentle dance.

P.S. You can email James your love and support as often as you’d like. Mom and Dad read these email to James as they come in. We all love them! JamesWestonAbramowitz@gmail.com
