Day 702 - DME Supply Order 📦, Junk Mail 📬, & Sugarplum Dreams 💭

Friday, December 2nd, 2022

Dad flew out in the early morning for a Dad Conference. It's called Front Row Dad's and it is for Family Men With Businesses, Not Businessmen With Families. He would be gone for a few days so Mom and James had the weekend. The goal was to see Santa tomorrow at the hospital and see if Mom can do 2 baths by herself.

Our respiratory DME supplies arrived. What's crazy is that we used to receive these on the 12th every month! But over the course of the last year they have been pushed back and back and back and at this point we've definitely lost a month of supplies. It takes a little while to put away all of the supplies, restock things, and always contact the DME afterwards letting them know what supplies were missed. In this particular order we did not receive our double swivels. This allows James to move around when he is on the vent. The good news is that he's not on the vent very much at all during the day anymore.

Mom took James to check the mail and he immediately knew what to do. He began shredding those extended warranty offers. 🤣 Mom was actually teaching James new verbs like "rip" and "smash". We are continuing the Montessori approach by doing exercises of practical life. We also played with toys and James danced a Christmas music. Then Mom showed James a really cool feature on Google. All you do is just type in the name of the type of dog and it will ask you if you would like to see a 3D version in your home. James was hysterically cracking up at these virtual dogs that looked like they were right there in our house. In one of the videos you can hear him but he only has the HME in, not the PMV so his laughing wasn't that loud, but he was literally laughing so hard he couldn't sit up. 😂

Tomorrow we are going to see Santa at the Complex Care Clinic. James was fast asleep with an O2 saturation of 97% off the vent and off oxygen! 🤩 Of course Mom put him back on the ventilator for the night but James has been doing so well! At one point, we never thought we'd be here!

P.S. You can email James your love and support as often as you’d like. Mom and Dad read these email to James as they come in. We all love them! JamesWestonAbramowitz@gmail.com
