Super busy day! A gazillion photos and videos!

First James started off the day with Mom giving him his favorite vanilla Greek yogurt! [Video]

Then we headed off to the zoo but had no idea that it would be lit up for Christmas! They did an amazing job with the lights and holiday entertainment. James could not get over the giraffes and the elephants. [Video] We think because these are animals that he recognizes often and they are just so big! We made the 4:30 gift giving show with the chimpanzees. Dad carried James majority of the day in the baby carrier facing out, so James could get really good views of the animals. James still has quite a few pounds to go to max out the weight limit on the carrier.

James went on his first carousel ride with Dad! 🎠 He did cry for the first three loops but then he calmed down and enjoyed it. Dad had him sit on the horse and everything! Unfortunately we did not get a photo! One of the coolest things that happened when Mom was holding James and as we walked up a bird flew across the cage directly to where we were and started whistling! It looked like a puppet whistled like a cartoon or something. But it was totally real and was having a full-on conversation with us! [Video] Speaking of puppets, James got to meet Randolph the Reindeer but Dad messed up by calling him a puppet in front of his owner. [Video]

As the sun set the lights really showed up and then came the crowds! We did have an incident with us trying to find a family restroom I don't know why places make it so difficult. It is definitely a two-parent job to change his diaper with all of the tubes and cords. Afterwards Mom was going to take James on the little train ride but it was getting late and James had only had a 30 minute nap earlier in the day so he was really tired and he was letting us know. We thought we would stop by and see the elves dancing since James really loves music but he wanted nothing to do with it and on top of that we were having difficulties packing up the stroller. So you can just imagine the chaos with a ton of people dancing around us in costumes, super loud music, James is crying, drinks are spilled, and the equipment is not fitting into the stroller. It was time to go. We figured we would get a nice picture of James in front of all of the Christmas trees. As you can see from the photo below he was not happy. It was just too many lights and one area with super loud music. He was over it!

So you would think that we would be heading home at this point! No, we ended up at the International Mall to have dinner. We ate outside and James liked the change of scenery. [Video] One really odd thing happened though... Our waitress specifically asked us if she could touch James' hands. 😶 We are not even sure why anyone would ever ask this of any child let alone a toddler who has a very visible trach and medical equipment. Obviously we said no. And she replied saying, "that's probably a good idea since I'm touching like 10,000 people everyday". 🤯 WTF.

When we got home James got in his new Christmas PJs from Juju and Aunt Robin. Then Mom reminded him of his NICU octopus stuffed animal. James lit up like it was his best friend he hadn't seen in the longest time. He hugged him several times and just kept looking at his face! James has never done this with any stuffed animal. It was the most adorable thing ever! 😍 [Video]

P.S. You can email James your love and support as often as you’d like. Mom and Dad read these email to James as they come in. We all love them! JamesWestonAbramowitz@gmail.com
