Day 740 - The Key Is to Not Get Off the Ship 🗝️ (Professional photos added)

Monday, January 9th, 2023

🏝️ Today we arrived at Grand Cayman in the morning. As everyone was so excited about getting off the ship we were excited to have an empty ship to ourselves. We already live in Florida with some of the best beaches that we never visit anyways. 😂

💦 James experienced his first time at a splash pad. On the Disney Dream it's called Nemo's Reef. It was great because barely anyone was there. Dad took James in and at first James cried. After about 2 minutes James loves it. He scooted around and around! We did unhook his Farrell bag and Feeding Pump for a total of 30 minutes. Video below.

Dad then went down the Aquaduck Waterslide while James and Mom watched and listened to some good music by the pool. James loves the Foo Fighters! Video below. We played bingo saw characters like Captain Hook 🪝. The staff really went out of their way to provide great service. To give you an example, a random server saw that we were trying to find a table out of the sun with our stroller after we had gotten our food. He immediately took our plates from us and carried them across the ship to empty seating. 🍽️ This is when we found out that the buffet where we eat for breakfast also served lunch and it's amazing!

Tonight we ate dinner in a new dining room called The Enchanted Garden. We didn't get the hint that it was Pirate Night with the bandanas they left in our room and instead decided to dress formal. Technically there isn't a "formal night" on a cruise less than 7 Days but many dress up whatever night they wanted. It was a beautiful dining room and our best meal so far. Our waitstaff had been asking us if they could give James his birthday cake if they didn't sing Happy Birthday. 🥳 🎂😆 As we were taking a photo James grabbed a good chunk of chocolate and then asked for more. 🍫

Shortly after dinner we were ready to change our clothes, and decided to do we all of James' care early before the fireworks. We wiped him down, changed his trach ties, brushed his teeth, put him on the vent to do his 3 nebulizer treatments and then took him off the vent again to put him back on his HME.

We headed to Deck 11 where everyone was watching the pirate song and dance. Lots of very loud music, singing and dancing, yelling and cheering... James started crying. Immediately the cast member who helped us on the first day asked us, "Do you only want to see the fireworks?". We said yes. She then told us to follow her where she led us to Deck 13 and we had a secluded spot for some private fireworks away from the chaos of 4,000 people. 🦜

🤣 🤣

P.S. You can email James your love and support as often as you’d like. Mom and Dad read these email to James as they come in. We all love them! JamesWestonAbramowitz@gmail.com
