Day 814 - Early Steps Re-Eval 💻, Puzzles 🚒, Doctor's Appt 🥼

Friday, March 24th, 2023

We started off the morning with our early steps re-evaluation zoom call. 💻 James will only have early steps until he is 3 years old. The early steps coordinator, our physical therapist, and our early intervention therapist was on the call. James was showing off for them! Overall everything went well but the Early Steps coordinator really talked down to the therapists. This is the 2nd time Mom had experienced this and it is especially concerning since it is done in front of the parent and patient. After we are finished with the program Mom will address this concern with an higher up.

Today James showed Mom that he know his vehicles like school bus, fire truck, motorcycle, police car, and boat. 🚒🚓🏍️🛳️ He also matched up two similar but different puzzles, which is kind of advanced!

📞 Mom made a few quick phone calls before we headed out. It had been two weeks since we had transferred our GI records to the new doctor and we had not heard anything yet. When we talked to the new office Mom talked to a new person who basically said that the people she talked to previously didn't know what they were talking about. 🤦🏻‍♀️ In short, they never put in the correct notes so we were never going to get a phone call back. It was confirmed that the referral from our pediatrician's office came over but it looked like they still had not received the medical records from our GI office. So of course Mom had to call back the old GI office and follow up with them about transferring over the records. But they insisted that they had sent over the fax on the 14th and it was received. It was kind of upsetting to hear that it took 4 days for them to fax 📠 over the medical records but maybe more upsetting the new office still had not uploaded them into the system after 10 days. It literally feels like we are running in circles when there is an issue with every step in the process. Supposedly we will now get a call next week! 🙄

In the afternoon James went with Mom to her doctor's appointment. Normally we are not allowed to bring children to respect other patients, but they made an exception for Mom this time since Dad was working. James did really well at the appointment once he realized we were not there for him! Mom also stopped by to get the car washed and James is getting used to that. However when she was vacuuming the car James got really upset that Mom had gone out of the car for 5 seconds and started crying. The separation anxiety is now a constant thing with James. The video below shows that James understands how to use the canopy on the car seat to provide sun shade. 😎 And the video also shows that James is going to do what he wants! 😂 Once we get home James took a much needed nap. His hands look so big and the picture of him sleeping! 🥹

P.S. You can email James your love and support as often as you’d like. Mom and Dad read these email to James as they come in. We all love them! JamesWestonAbramowitz@gmail.com
