Day 834 - Smart Little Boy! 🤓

Thursday, April 13th, 2023

Everyday we see James understanding or figuring something out so quickly! Mom asked him to put the worms in the holes as part of a fine motor skill. James did that but also put the colored worms in the correct colored holes without being told to match them up. 😯

James did excellent in physical therapy and was the most active he has been so far! Our current focus is having James crawling up on a higher surface. (But James doesn't crawl, he only scoots) We are currently using his nugget cushion. When James wants to get down from a higher level we are teaching him to put his arms to one of the sides and then slide down on his side. Ideally in the future we will get him to turn around on his tummy.

As long as we are doing a repetitive exercise with James he will pick it up very quickly. After just a matter of doing it a few times James did it himself and put his arms to the side when asked, "how do you get down?". When James is scooting around with his backpack and his freedom we put up barricades so that he has to crawl over something, even if it is just our legs. James loves to scoot from the front door to the kitchen and back. James would prefer to crawl over us feet first on his bottom but we are teaching him to use his arms first and to crawl over. The main issue is that he does not like to bear any weight through his arms or lift his head up. The consequence of very little tummy time when younger because of the GJ. 😕

On a side note, Mom continues to test and today we definitely got a darker line. So that is exciting! We'll probably stop testing at this point and wait till Monday's bloodwork. ✨

P.S. You can email James your love and support as often as you’d like. Mom and Dad read these email to James as they come in. We all love them! JamesWestonAbramowitz@gmail.com
