Facebook Pregnancy Update! π€°π»

π€°π»This past Sunday I reached 26 weeks! This is another huge milestone for us! I'm delighted to share that we've consistently received positive updates during every doctor's appointment (even just yesterday!). π In August, I had the pleasure of meeting with my MFM specialist in Tampa, where I experienced my first-ever positive news during a 20-week anatomy scan. As you can imagine I was terrified to go to the appointment. So much so that I scheduled a 4D ultrasound with a sonographer at her home at 17 weeks. Every time we received good news it was such a blessing but there was always a sense of anticipation for the next ultrasound.
πΆπ» Our baby girl is thriving, with a normal placental cord attachment (both Hannah's and James' were marginal attachments), a healthy 3-vessel umbilical cord (James only 2), and on-track measurements for long bone development and amniotic fluid levels. Encouragingly, I've exhibited no signs of preeclampsia thus far. ππ» At 23 weeks, she was 1lb 6oz! (James was born at 1lb 4oz, which means he was measuring more like a 22/23 weeker not a 26 weeker). This was also the first doctor's appointment that Mike was able to attend. The ultrasound tech wanted to know why I was crying. Well this was another huge milestone for us! A big 1lb 6oz baby! π₯Ή
Reflecting on my previous pregnancy with James, my preeclampsia symptoms started at 21 weeks, which is very early. He had severe IUGR (in-utero growth restriction), and needed to be delivered only a few weeks later because my kidneys were failing. This week, I relived those days leading up to James' delivery. The text messages between my mom and I that week could be a lifetime movie. Someday, I would like to share it. This is my fifth pregnancy, the third time I have reached the second trimester, but the first time I've ever really felt pregnant! I feel her kicks, have nausea and extreme exhaustion, and a real baby bump! π€°π» So many firsts! I'm overjoyed! Despite already being NICU parents, this journey with our little girl feels entirely new to us, and there's so much to learn this time around.
π Despite my due date coinciding with Christmas Eve π€£, we're only 10 weeks away from meeting our baby girl on December 3rd! π This scheduling isn't for convenience; it is absolutely required for my health and safety due to having a previous classical c-section. We're thrilled to have settled into our new home in Saint Augustine, and this weekend, we're treating James to a trip to Disney World! π€Έπ»ββοΈ
We are also so blessed to be thrown a baby sprinkle next month Oct 15th in Jacksonville! Can't wait to celebrate with friends and family! π₯Ή We have created an Amazon Baby Registry with a few girl things and other helpful items. The link is below. More than anything though we appreciate your prayers, love, and support! π©·
