Day 290 - Missing Supply Order & Boys Weekend

Image
Saturday, October 16th, 2021 No nurse Saturday, but a welcome break! We received our monthly shipment of respiratory supplies from our Respiratory DME in Melbourne, FL. We were missing 8 major things and received an item that wasn't ours that we are required to return. Good thing we check the order. 😂 So Mom had the pleasure of making several phone calls, going line item by line item to get this corrected with our supplier.  Dad had a few friends in town for the weekend. Uncle Doug and Uncle Patrick were able to meet James for the first time. After a long day on the water jet skiing they came back with dinner and James was able to join them in his high chair. Uncle Doug beat everyone in cards while Uncle Patrick found our massage chair upstairs. ☺️  Mom and James enjoyed the day watching Tangled, which for being in the hospital so long is a lot like being trapped in a tower from the outside world. James loves his Disney songs!  Mom bought James with window bird feeder si...

Day 289 - Bath Day

Image
Friday, October 15th, 2021 James ate dinner with Mommy and Daddy at the kitchen table. We then video recorded his bath and Trach care routine; however at this time we will only be sharing screenshots of the video.  Mom noticed that James' hands and fingers are getting bigger. He has some long piano playing fingers. 🎹 P.S. If you read the blog and are supporting James through his journey we would love you to participate in our video montage of everyone singing his lullaby. Please see the James Weston lullaby post for more details. ❤️ P.P.S. Thank you so much for the lullaby submissions so far! It's so exciting to have all of you be a part of something so special! 😭

Day 288 - James Tours the Kitchen

Thursday, October 14th, 2021 (Photos and Video below) We opened the blinds all the way so James could clearly see outside! Our setup to travel within the home (1st floor)! P.S. 😭

Day 287 - First Nurse Firing & Old Photo of Pop-pop

Image
Wednesday, October 13th, 2021 So last night we had a male night nurse do his first shift (8pm-7am). It was pretty awful. Mom let him go the next day. Before doing that she reached out to the FB group to get their opinions on the situation, it was a pretty unanimous response to let him go immediately. Details are posted in that FB posting below. We wanted to share this photo we have of Pop-pop (Mom's dad) and James making the same face. We need to show the comparison of one of his baby photos too. James is definitely a Baby Fallon right now, but we're sure he will get that chiseled jaw line from Dad soon enough. 😂 Everyday he looks older and growing into a little boy. P.S. If you read the blog and are supporting James through his journey we would love you to participate in our video montage of everyone singing his lullaby. Please see the James Weston lullaby post for more details. ❤️ P.P.S. Thank you so much for the lullaby submissions so far! It's so exciting to have all o...

Day 286 - Medical Crib & New High Chair

Image
Tuesday, October 12th, 2021 Today we got the medical crib delivered. Two men drove the parts here from our DME in Melbourne, FL and put it together. It's heavy duty! It's a full size regular crib mattress, so we need to get some bigger sheets! The sides go up and down and it is on wheels. The height is good for us to do trach care and a bath right in his bed. This way we do not have to set up the massage table every night in the living room. We do however still need to disconnect the ventilator circuit to go underneath the railing to prevent rainout. Right now, the circuit would drain into him with the sides up.  Even though the sides go down we do not want to leave them all the way down if we walk away from the crib. He doesn't roll yet but it will be soon.  James also got to try out his new high chair. Thanks to Vicki, Debbie, and Maria for the registry item! It is so comfortable for James to sit in and very safe. The high chair is on wheels and can also can lay completel...
