Day 766 - James Discovers a New Show 📺

Image
Saturday, February 4th, 2023 Mom had the day off to run errands like picking up our new kitchen chairs from Ikea. Juju bought us new kitchen chairs for Christmas since our old ones had a little too much duct tape (😂 the leather had ripped in several places). Mom and Dad put together the chairs following the swedish directions and only needed to take everything apart once. 😆 James spent the day with Dad watching Sunny Bunnies. 🤷🏻‍♀️ Thanks Dad. Video below. P.S. You can email James your love and support as often as you’d like. Mom and Dad read these email to James as they come in. We all love them! JamesWestonAbramowitz@gmail.com

Day 765 - Therapist No Show 😑 & Hide and Seek 🫣

Image
Friday, February 3rd, 2023 We had PT scheduled at the hospital at 9am. When we arrived at the valet parking, it was packed. Nine o'clock is probably the busiest time for appointments. There were 15 cars and only 1 person was working. We waited for 15 minutes just to park the car in a suitable spot to leave it unattended. By the time we went through security and got up total the 3rd floor we were definitely late. It turns out that the therapist left at 9:15am because she wasn't feeling well and assumed we weren't coming. Mom was told this by another therapist. These appointments were not worth the hassle for only 30 minutes. Mom let the other therapist know this. Even though it was a waste of time and it took 30 minutes just to pack up and get out of the house James was still in a good mood. Probably because we didn't have PT and were leaving! On a side note, it is shocking how many parents just drop off their kid. They don't even stick around to watch or learn anyth...

Day 764 - Valentine's Day Gifts from Juju 💘 & Banana Selfie Video 🍌

Image
Thursday, February 2nd, 2023 We started off the morning with physical therapy where James made a lot of progress with standing. Then James opened up some Valentine's Day gifts from Juju that we received in the mail! Video below. He absolutely loved his heart slinky and was warming up to Mickey Mouse.  In the afternoon James took a nap upstairs and helped Mom with one of the Christmas gifts we received which was a tile mat. It only took a few hours and a couple of tries but we managed to spell out "Wash and Dry". Although Dad thought this read "Josh and Amy". 😂 In one of the photos you'll see that James was playing with Mr Potato Head that he received from the pediatrician in January. James wanted nothing to do with him but was intrigued by his glasses which he played with. In the early evening Mom gave James some bananas. At first he was not happy about it. We found the trick to get James to eat was to do a selfie video. 🎥 At one point he grabbed the spoon...

Day 763 - Stacking Towers 🧱 & the Building Blocks of Puzzle Play 🧩

Image
Wednesday, February 1st, 2023 Today James learned how to stack towers! He's been really into the knocking phase for a while. James used the mega bloks and connected a ton of them together instead of just knocking them down. During early intervention therapy we also had him stack a tower with his Lovevery cups. 🧱 In addition, James is making great progress with his puzzles. He now can put all of the puzzle pieces like farm animals and vehicles back into their correct spots without any help. Around 2-3 years of age is when the building begins. This stage, known as the stacking, rows and towers or repetition stage, is when you will see them line up the blocks. They may stack them one on top of the other for a vertical tower. Or lay them out on the floor in rows, either vertical or horizontal. There will be many repetitions in their "building." As they repeat patterns until they determine the next step in the block play progression. During this stage your toddler will learn ...
